PROVIDENT MUSIC GROUP RECEIVES 18 WINS FROM THE 50TH ANNUAL GMA DOVE AWARDS
October 2019 - NASHVILLE, Tenn.- The Provident Music Group family of artists, labels, songwriters, publishers, and filmmakers are pleased to announce they received an astounding 18 GMA Dove Awards. The 50th Annual GMA Awards show was held yesterday in Nashville, TN at Lipscomb University's Allen Arena. Trinity Broadcast Network (TBN) will air the awards this Sunday, October 20 at 8pm EST/5pm PST. One of the top winners during the golden anniversary awards show was Kirk Franklin who was named Gospel Artist of the Year and won for Contemporary Gospel/Urban Recorded Song of the Year ("Love Theory").Another big winner was Jason Ingram who won Songwriter of the Year(Non-Artist), while Ingram and Paul Mabury received two Doves for Producers of the Year and as co-writers for Song of the Year ("You Say"). More double wins were awarded to RCA Inspiration's Donald Lawrence(and The Tri-City Singers) featuring Le'Andria Johnson with "Deliver Me (This Is My Exodus)" named Traditional Gospel Song of the Year, as well as for Lawrence's album, Goshen, winning Traditional Gospel Album of the Year. It was also an unforgettable night for Koryn Hawthorne who won Contemporary Gospel Album of the Year (Unstoppable). Matt Maher added to his Dove collection for winning Christmas/Special Event Album of the Year (The Advent of Christmas), as did Casting Crowns for receiving another Dove for Long Form Video of the Year, Only Jesus Visual Album. To round out the PMG winners, producer Jacob Sooter \ won for Children's Music Album of the Year for Bright Ones. Numerous Provident Music Group artists also performed and presented throughout the evening. Kirk Franklin, Casting Crowns, Matthew West, and Matt Maher all performed, while presenters included Travis Greene, Koryn Hawthorne, Tauren Wells, Donald Lawrence, and both West and Zach Williams presented the award for Artist of the Year. - # # # - |
